About
Blake Bailey
Blake Bailey is a lawyer who has spent his life representing the common
worker against large corporations and insurance companies. This experience
translated into an abiding passion for
the struggle of the disenfranchised everywhere. His life outside his
profession is one of adventure: Scuba diving, Flying, Trekking in the
Himalayas,etc.
The reports of the Zapatista revolution pervading the international press in
1994 intrigued him and caused Blake to begin an exhaustive study of the
Chiapas story. This included a road-trip across Mexico to San Cristabal de
las Casas, where the dramatic take-over by the Mayan Indians was focused.
This story of adventure and sacrifice of a people's revolution drove Blake to
write a novel based on the continuing struggle.
